Swimming Competitions Need You – Swimming officials needed

Swimming Competitions Need You!

It’s well known that officials get the best seats in the house, right next to the action on the poolside! You don’t have to pay to watch the competition, you get free start sheets, refreshments and your lunch.
Without officials, competitions wouldn’t run and swimmers wouldn’t have the opportunity to race. We need more officials to ensure competitions continue to run.

We need your help!

Did you know it usually takes only one 2 hour theory session and one session on poolside to become a qualified timekeeper? After another two theory sessions and around eight sessions on poolside you could be a qualified Judge 1.
Did you also know that you can start officiating from 14 years old, as a timekeeper, with experience at events and competitions contributing to your Curriculum Vitae and Personal Statement? This could lead onto other jobs in aquatics, sport development or event management.
Within Northumberland and Durham, there are courses virtually every month and these are free for members of Swim21 clubs.
