Report Derwentside Gala
The competitive development squad recently competed in the Derwentside Invitational Development Meet, for many of the swimmers their first step into the competitive arena.
The focus of the meet was to understand the competition environment and to transfer skills practised in training into a race.
They all performed fantastically, most competed in 100IM and 50metres in every stroke, giving coaches areas for development before the next gala.
All swimmers improved on their entry times and many medals were won! Results are posted here.
There were outstanding performances from Conan Swinney and Joseph Butler-Whitelaw who achieved qualification times for next years N&D championships.
Congratulations to all the swimmers who competed. We are now looking forward to the Derwentside Christmas Cracker meet in December.
