REPORT Derwentside Christmas Cracker

Derwentside Christmas Cracker: 1-2 December 2018

Well welcome to December! On a dark foggy morning we arrived at the Louisa Centre, Stanley. This was quite an important event with regards to obtaining qualifying times.

Even though it was colder inside the pool, the swimmers managed to amass a copious amount of selection boxes by being successful heat winners. Our first silver medal was won by – Harry O’Halleron-Hutchinson and the first gold from Taylor Lewis.

As the first day ended, we all wondered if the second day would go ahead, but, ho ho ho, the magic of heat, it did and not to be left out Abbie Stephenson and Owen Jackson added their golds to the pot ….. with more selection boxes/ medals and PBs!!

Congratulations to all swimmers. The final medal tally was four golds, nine silvers and 16 bronze with 56 places 4th through to 6th!!!!!
