REPORT Peterlee and Derwentside New Year Meet

Peterlee and Derwentside New Year Meet: 12th – 13th January 2019

Potential swimmers were once again competing at the Louisa Centre in Stanley – this time the pool was toasty warm, maybe a bit too much!

Most of the swimmers managed to gain personal best times and quite a few medals to boot! The days were long and unfortunately extended further due to hold-ups in the schedule….not planned….but the swimmers kept their efforts up and performed their skills to the end.

Notable swimmers were:

Rebecca Allen who posted a 50m breaststroke, which she’s been working on.

Laura Taylor gained eight personal best times.

Sophie Brown completed her first 200m fly.

Tom Goulden gained a County qualifying time for his 50m front crawl.

Faye Brown managed to get seven personal best times and one of them with goggle failure!

Ellie Berwick has to be the comeback swimmer, gaining two best times.
